Orange You Glad You're Six Months Old?

Owen turned 6 months old yesterday. So, I took this video of him on his halfy birthday (as John and Amy call it).

Waiting for Jello to jell.

I am making my Aunt Patti's Jello Squares for two Thanksgiving dinners tomorrow and I have to wait 30 minutes in between each layer (and there are seven layers). So, I thought it was a good time to post a new blog.

These pictures are for Linda. She bought Owen his cute "critter" outfit and he now fits into it. I have to roll the pants, but I wanted him to be able to wear it now. Awhile back I said that Owen was wearing size 3 diapers. I had to go back to size 2 because the 3s were a touch too big. He is now still teetering on the border of those sizes. He is slowly moving from 6 month clothing size to 6-9 and 9 month clothing sizes.

I got to watch Sara for a little bit today and managed to capture the cousins interacting. I will try to post the video next (or as some as Blogger lets me).

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!

Four Thirty in the Morning...

Owen is currently laying in his bed talking to himself right now. I am patiently waiting for him to fall back asleep so I can recover him and go back to bed myself. I debated on turning down the monitor, but what if he starts to cry or something happens and I don't hear it? So, I decided to get up, go to the bathroom, get a drink of water and check my email. Hoping that by the time I did all that, he would be asleep. Still talking... So, it was time for a new blog post anyway. And hey, at least he is happy and not crying. The only other person who is probably up right now is Kelly. Ah, the good ol' days when waking in the middle of the night was "normal" and you expected it.

Vicki, Marissa, Christina and I completed the Turkey Trot on Saturday. It was really, really fun to do a relay race. It was a lot more relaxed, but still pushed you to run the whole way and complete it before the person in front of you. I have finally found my camera, but not before the race so I have no pictures of us, sorry. I saw Dave Coles and Dan Benedick, from college, who were also there to run the race. They plan to run a race every two weeks. So, I might have to join them on some of those to keep me motivated before Robie arrives in April.
Here is our race wall in the garage. I am so pathetically proud.
And, a few pictures of the kiddo. Thanks to my friend, Jennifer, Owen has several big toys that he truly loves and enjoys (his piano, Jump & Go and Exersaucer)
And yes, he is still teething-chewing on those poor hands of his.

Bushy Eyebrows.

I have had these pictures for a while now and have been meaning to post them. Owen's eyebrows have only filled in even more in the meantime. At the time of the pictures, I was fascinated with the fact that my little baby had serious eyebrows already, even if they are light in color. He is his father's son. The eyebrows could also have come from my dad and brother. Good thing Owen is a boy.

The Turkey Trot.

Marissa and two of her sisters talked me into joining them for the Turkey Trot race (a 4 x 2 miler relay) in less than two weeks. We want to try to find matching stretch pants or shirts. I think some ugly 80s stretch pants would be awesome-ha! The winners receive turkeys and the winners are defined by those closest to their predicted time (no watches allowed). So, it should be fun and it was just what I needed to give me that push back toward running. PLUS, Robie Creek is only 5 months away, gotta start gearing up for that too. Here is Robie's suggested training to prepare for the race. Ugh.

Here is a picture from last year's Turkey Trot from the home page site (no, I wasn't there and do not know anyone in the picture). It looks a bit cold, uh oh...
