Leaving for the Hospital.

We are leaving for the hospital. Thank you for all the phone calls and prayers. God has given me peace and now I just can't wait to hold my son. Stay tuned....

Elmer, The Fox

This is for Marissa. These pictures are of our "pet" fox, who she nicknamed, Elmer. Elmer lives near our cabin in Donnelly. He shows up every once in a while and we happened to get him on camera once before. I believe that he has goten a little bit domesticated since (considering he is curling up near the steps of the cabin and because he accepted people food).

For those of you wondering... no baby yet... I went to the doc on Thursday morning and I am dilated 1 to 2 centimeters and am 70% effaced. I am scheduled to be induced on Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. We are enjoying our last "couple" vacation in Donnelly this weekend and will probably head back home Sunday morning. Sorry that the news is not more exciting.

Last Doctor's Appointment.

Today I go in for my last doctor's appointment. He has agreed to induce the baby on Tuesday after Memorial Day if nothing has happened by then. So, if Owen decides to stay, his official birthday will be Tuesday, May 29th. I will keep you all posted.

Swollen.

I am officially swollen and, considering today is Owen's due date, I am ready to be done being pregnant. My hands have been pretty swollen and sometimes tingly. Especially the middle finger on my right hand. This finger housed my "memory" ring. Since I have been swollen, I knew that I wasn't getting it off, but I was worried that the ring was cutting off my circulation. I told Mike and Kelly about my tingly hands and they both suggested that I try to get the ring off. Mike had a good idea of running my hand under cold water and Byron suggested using Dawn dishwashing detergent. After a bit of pain and help from Byron, I did get the ring off. My finger is a little tender, but I am hoping for a little more sensation in the finger from now on.

Cavity.

I would post a picture, but who really wants to see the inside of my mouth?

Sunday after church I noticed a sharp part to my tooth. I was busy and didn't take a look at it until Monday. Turns out a part of a filling came out and left a little gap in between my two teeth (second and third from the back bottom left), leaving the edges a little sharp (which my tongue wouldn't leave alone). I called my dentist and they got me in at 8 this morning. I told them that I was pregnant and they said to just come in so they could take a look at it. Fully expecting them to just look at the tooth and send me home, I went in and left with a brand new filling. Upon arrival, the dentist took a look at the tooth, spun around and reappeared with the needle. I tried to complain and postpone the inevitable while using the excuse of pregnancy so I wouldn't have to get the shot. However, he recommended that we take care of it now because who knows when I would have time after Owen arrived. True. He only gave me 2/10ths of a normal shot hoping he would hit the spot perfectly; he did much to my relief. I was in and out in a half-hour and am glad that it was as easy as it could have been-considering others I know that have had root canals or the like while pregnant and weren't able to get shots. So now my teeth are non-sharp edged and I am back to normal. Can I consider this normal? *sigh*

The Nursery.

Thanks to my amazing mom, Owen's nursery is now done and patiently waiting for him. As are the rest of us...

My mom made the quilt, the bumper, the curtains, the rocking chair cushions and the diaper stacker!!! I simply made the crib sheets and finished stitching the edging on the quilt. Isn't she so generous and wonderful!!! She also helped with the hanging of the curtains, supplying the curtain rods, shelves and the quilt wall decor and hanger. How did I ever think that I would get any of it done? I wouldn't have! THANK YOU, MOM!!!! I also wanted to thank Byron's mom, Kathy, who helped me pick out the fabric that we love so much. We are truly blessed!

I had to add a picture of the little shirt that we bought Owen on our trip to Kauai. It is the tiniest thing I have and I can't get over the newborn diapers. Aren't little things so adorable?!?

Nothing to Report.

Had another doc appointment this morning. Nothing is happening. I guess everyone should just plan for a late baby. Think May 29th or so.

Tonight we had all kinds of fun things to choose from. Nickel Creek was in town playing at the Morrison Center. The men's softball team had a game. Stephanie got "pinned" and graduated from the Nursing Program at BSU. And, Ryan Warwick had his 30th birthday party. We went to Steph's graduation and caught the end of Ryan's party. Here are a few pictures...

Stephanie and Kielty after the ceremony.

Ryan's invitation had a "No Gifts Please", but I purchased this gift for him long ago, so he got a gift anyway. The minute I saw the words "Monkey Butt", I knew who the gift was for. If any of you know Ryan, you know that he would appreciate a gift like this...

Abby was being such a good sport tonight. She was up almost two hours after her bedtime and she was a happy baby at that!

Check out that red hair! She had a ponytail in earlier...

Forever Stamp.

I discovered that starting Monday, the 39 cent stamps will no longer be enough to mail a card or letter. So, I have lots of letters to send before that day. Which is good because I have been meaning to send everyone their much deserved Thank You note. I have been so blessed with gifts and I can only hope that I can convey my appreciation through words.

I kind of thought that it was funny how the United States Postal Service is using advertising with "Buy Them Now-Use Them Forever". So, does this mean that I can use them in 10 years and the USPS will still accept them? In THAT case, give me all they've got:)

We're Going On A Turkey Hunt. X Marks The Spot. Circle, Circle, Circle. Dot, Dot, Dot.

So we went looking for Turkeys, but were not able to shoot any. Besides, Thanksgiving is a long ways away. The guys tried their hands at it for the first time and still have some kinks to iron out as they learn techniques. I got to go along to be the video girl. It was a lot of fun and the country was beautiful. In the picture from left to right: Anthony, Byron and Me. I look like I stuffed a turkey inside the shirt!! Two more weeks until Owen's due date (as of yesterday).

YOU are NOT the baby!!!

Ugh. I know that this may gross some of you out. It does me! I got Owen's bassinet all ready to go and walked into our room to discover this!! I got her out immediately (well, after taking a couple pictures). I washed everything and now have it barricaded. The cats have now been kicked out of the house unless they are sitting in a lap or a designated sleeping area. I like our cats to a certain extent, but I think Byron spoils them. Maybe once Owen is here, he won't be as inclined to let them do whatever they want.
